We Do Good Work!
A recent letter from the Department Head of the Public Alternative Secondary School (PASS) of the Greater Essex County District School Board cites positive outcomes for youth in the school's partnership with the Windsor Residence for Young Men's Youth Independence Program:
  • youth received counselling  for high school diploma and post-secondary options
  • PASS staff participated in lessons
  • students who successfully completed the education component received a high school credit
  • students without a high school diploma were connected to the board's Continuing Education program so as to continue to work toward a  high school diploma even after graduating from WRYM
  • students showed an increase in key academic skills such as literacy and communication, application of concepts and critical thinking
PASS calls these "immense positive outcomes"  and looks forward to continuing this work. I suggest this is an impressive testimonial to the good work we do at the Windsor Residence for Young Men. Unfortunately however, we have no funding for the Youth Independence Program this year. Consequently, due to the Coronavirus restrictions as well, we are only offering the program to youth in residence at about half the expense, still approximating $26,000 annually.

Want to Walk and Talk?
I’m still doing my 1km walk around the block from WRYM each weekday at 1pm as part of WALK, RUN or ROLL 4 WRYM. As long as you’re wearing a mask, you are welcome to join me. You could also get involved by yourself or with a group of your friends.
