2024 - Year in Review
Dear friends and supporters,
As we reflect on 2024, I am filled with pride and gratitude for what The Windsor Residence for Young Men (WRYM) has accomplished this year. Together, we have made incredible strides in transforming lives and empowering youth to achieve stability and independence.
In the first 11 months of this year, WRYM served 96 individuals across our Transitional Housing, Outreach, and Aftercare Services. Even more remarkable, we achieved a 95% success rate in housing the youth we supported—a testament to the dedication of our staff, volunteers, and community partners.
These numbers represent more than just statistics; they reflect real stories of resilience, growth, and hope. Every young man we assist is a step closer to breaking the cycle of homelessness and achieving a brighter future.
Supporting almost 100 at-risk youth takes a community to achieve, and this community continues to be here for us. Be it Lee and Marias with their weekly Harvest Bin donations, Sun-Parlour Weed & Spider Control and their care of our lawn, Plasman granting wishes with amazing donations, Home Depot with their “Orange Doors”, Capital Power and their Season of Giving kindness, or Ron MacIsaac who will go from basketball net installer to garbage man in the same day, and the list goes on and on. There are too many to thank in such a small space, and many who prefer not to be mentioned; but, to all of the individuals and businesses who helped us in 2024, thank you. We could never have done it without you.
This success would not be possible without your support. Whether through donations, advocacy, or volunteerism, your contributions help us provide vital resources and a safe, supportive environment where young men can thrive.
Of course, I would be remiss if I did not take the time to acknowledge our amazing staff, who make all of this work possible. It is their dedication and tireless effort which takes a youth from “street to home.” On behalf of all our Directors, I would like to thank our employees, our volunteers, and all of the supporters in the community who continue playing a role in ending homelessness for youth.
As we look to 2025, we remain committed to our mission and inspired by the lives we continue to impact. Thank you for believing in the work we do and for standing with us to create lasting change.
With gratitude and best wishes for the year ahead,
Respectfully,
Kalie Dunlop
