Those interested in joining our Rough Night Out campaign, click below and "Create a Fundraiser" - this campaign is to raise awareness and funds to support WRYM as we help end homelessness for youth by "sleeping rough", as homeless youth may be forced to do.
Windsor Residence for Young Men is to benefit from the HOME DEPOT SUMMER ORANGE DOOR PROJECT CAMPAIGN July 6 to August 1, 2021 - Walker and Division Road Store From July 6 to August 1, customers will be able to buy a $2 paper “paper door’ at the checkout when purchasing goods at the Walker and Division store, or can donate online at www.orangedoorproject.ca. If donating online, people are being asked to be sure to select the Walker and Division store “Fund #7228” in the drop-down menu so that their donation benefits WRYM. They may also leave a note regarding their donation. “Home Depot Store 7228 in south Windsor is always eager to support our local charities,” says assistant store manager Sherri Jean. “WRYM has been a long-time partner with our store as we work together to end youth homelessness in our community.” ![]() Sherri and Donna are among the Walker and Division roads Home Depot store employees raising funds to support residents of the Windsor Residence for Young Men. Windsor Residence for Young Men (WRYM) is a charitable organization that supports young men 16 - 24 years of age as they leave homelessness behind to build new lives. WRYM provides a transitional residence and individual counselling while teaching basic life skills such as hygiene, food acquisition and preparation, budgeting, social responsibility and work ethic. WRYM depends almost entirely on donations from the community, which go direct to assisting homeless young men. Administrative tasks are done by community volunteers.
The Home Depot Canada Foundation is committed to preventing and ending youth homelessness in Canada. Together with community partners across the country, it works to remove barriers, break cycles of inequity, and enable at-risk youth facing homelessness to achieve positive development outcomes and realize their full potential. The Home Depot Canada Foundation has pledged $50M by 2022 to help prevent and end youth homelessness and, as of the start of 2021, the Foundation has distributed $38M of this pledge through 4 core programmatic areas: housing, employment and life skills, prevention, and research.
